Each year, the Tennessee Youth Advisory Council (LYAC) selects motivated young individuals to represent their peers in the state legislature. The council hosts an annual Youth Action Day in Nashville, offering an exciting opportunity for students from across the state to engage with local leaders, take part in policy discussions, and facilitate direct conversations with lawmakers. LYAC members meet regularly in committees and gather monthly as a full council. The council also convenes up to six times in person throughout the year. As a council member, you will advocate for crucial issues affecting Tennessee's youth, helping to shape state policy through lobbying, testifying in front of the legislature, and organizing impactful community events. Join us as we work to empower young voices and create meaningful change in our state.
